No, I don't believe that by declaring ownership over another living being in that way. If you love someone you should take it upon yourself to prove it to them every day, rather than relying on symbols and ritual.
The fact that the entire concept of marriage was formed around the idea that a man should be able to claim sole breeding rights to a woman is not only archaic but downright insulting.

Do you believe in marriage (gosh that wording always sounded moronic to me...) how about do you believe in the "sanctity of marriage? Is it something you ever want to do?
