I'm half Japanese by ancestry but completely American by culture. Should I have to explain that all the time? Why can't I just be accepted as full-on American? It's hard enough being from parallel dimension.

What's with the obsession with Americans trying to claim not to be American anyways?

I always seem to meet people who describe themselves as Irish-American, or African-American, or Krypton-American. If America's such a great place to live why not just be American?
